Annotation of the academic discipline

Problems of biomedical ethics is devoted to the activities of major international scientific conferences and published a number of specialized journals. Specialized committees and commissions on biomedical ethics established by the national medical associations, as well as several international organizations, as the Council of Europe, UNESCO, WHO, WMA, etc. In 1996 the Council of Europe adopted the Convention "On Human Rights and Biomedicine." Biomedical ethics is introduced as a compulsory medical discipline in higher and secondary medical schools in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. The decisions of the 4th Conference of the WHO study on biomedical ethics (Geneva, 1994) noted that the teaching of this discipline should not be selective, but mandatory.
